Childrens’ Domestic Abuse Worker

You will be working with children and families to provide trauma informed support with the aim of reducing trauma symptoms and rebuild relationships.

You will receive support and training and a competitive starting salary of £20,000 for a 28 hour week. Reduced hours may be possible by agreement. This is a two-year fixed term post with the possibility of becoming permanent after two years.

We are looking for someone who will work with professionalism, empathy and kindness, have knowledge of working with children and families who have experienced trauma due to abuse and have a trauma informed, child focused approach. Experience of working with complex family situations where there are safeguarding concerns with the ability to assess risk is required.

You will be based at our office in Redhill and you must be able to reliably commute to the office.

Domestic Abuse Triage Outreach Assessor

You will be the first person to respond to calls from survivors or to contact them when they are referred to us by the police or other agencies to assess their needs and sign-post them to support or allocate them from support from one of our Outreach team

Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker

You will support and advise survivors by telephone and with face-to-face outreach support and advocate for them with other agencies on a needs-led, trauma informed basis

You will receive support and training and a competitive starting salary of between £24,000 - £25,000 p.a. depending upon experience together with other benefits. The Triage role is full time (ie. 35 hours a week) and the Outreach Worker role could be part time or full time (ie. between 25 and 35 hours a week).  Both roles are on a 2 year fixed term with the possibility of becoming permanent. 

To succeed in either role, you must work with professionalism, empathy and kindness, have knowledge of working with survivors or other groups who have suffered trauma and be able to work on your own initiative and in a team.
You will be based at our office in Redhill and you must be able to reliably commute to the office.  You must have a driving licence and use of a car for work, if you apply for the Outreach Worker role, as some local travelling will be required for which you will be paid a mileage allowance.
